I am a Postdoctoral Researcher working in the AI4CommSci Lab at the MGH Institute of Health Professions under the supervision of Dr. Joshua Hartshorne. I have a strong background of training in Developmental Psycholinguistics and expertise in the areas of reference comprehension and discourse processing. My research investigates the cognitive mechanisms that support real-time language comprehension and word learning in early childhood. I focus on how young children draw on their growing knowledge of events and language to make sense of words as sentences unfold, using tools like eye-tracking and large-scale language data.
Before my current position, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Language Learning and Meaning Acquisition (LLaMA) Lab at Purdue University, where I was advised by Dr. Arielle Borovsky. I earned a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my graduate degree, I worked with Professors Cynthia Fisher and Renee Baillargeon. Before joining UIUC, I received a M.Sc. in Psychology from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where I was advised by Dr. Mark Sabbagh.
